Commissioned by Australian bassoonist Mark Gaydon, MultiSonics is a 9-minute contemporary tour-de-force designed specifically for advanced and tertiary-level players.

This piece is a study in 'sonic multiplicity', exploring the vast textural capabilities of the bassoon without alienating the audience. It weaves extended techniques (such as harmonic tonguing, timbre trills, and slow, resonant glissandi) into a cohesive, lyrical narrative.

Unlike many 'technique-heavy' contemporary works, MultiSonics remains musically accessible. It balances rhythmic intricacy with moments of profound stillness, making it an ideal choice for recital repertoire, technical assessments, or professional auditions where demonstrating both virtuosity and musical maturity is required.
