Commissioned by Naomi and Simon Miller for their son Hugo on the occasion of his sixteenth birthday, Facing Forward was composed to acknowledge Hugo's love and enjoyment of music through its creation.

This 4-minute work is specifically designed for Upper Level High School and University Level students. It serves as an ideal bridge piece for developing performers, offering a musical narrative that looks ahead with optimism and energy suitable for recital programmes or student assessments.
